About Ms. Chikwendu
Talibah Chikwendu is a 2015 graduate of McDaniel College with a master’s degree in school librarianship. Being a media specialist is not her first career. She was a journalist in Maryland for over 17 years, working for the local newspaper, The Banner, and for the AFRO-American Newspaper. She is also an adjunct professor at Chesapeake College.
Ms. Chikwendu is a native of Cambridge, Maryland and her love of books and reading started here, in Dorchester County Public Schools and the Dorchester County Public Library. She is an avid reader (“I am never without a book.”), and loves books of all genres.
The only items Ms. Chikwendu enjoys as much as books are technology tools. Whenever possible, she uses technology for teaching and enhancing her quality of life. “I am looking forward to sharing books and technology with the students in the Maple Lions Media Center.”
